Mauro Renzetti
Mauro Renzetti is an Edinburgh-based photographer whose work explores the relationship between atmosphere, landscape, and emotion. Originally from Italy, he studied cinema and the arts in Rome, where he developed a strong visual sensibility and a deep appreciation for storytelling through imagery. Over time, photography became his preferred creative medium, offering a more immediate and instinctive way to capture the essence of a place, a moment, or a fleeting mood.

Having lived in Edinburgh for the past five years, Mauro has found constant inspiration in the city’s rich history, gothic architecture, and ever-changing natural light. Scotland’s dramatic weather, shifting seasons, and atmospheric landscapes have become defining elements of his visual language, shaping a body of work that balances documentary observation with a cinematic aesthetic. His images often embrace mist, rain, soft light, and quiet moments, transforming familiar scenes into evocative visual narratives.
“Always take a camera with you”

Today, Mauro’s photography is centred on creating cinematic and emotionally resonant images of Scotland and the places he travels. Rather than simply documenting locations, he seeks to convey the feeling of being there, inviting viewers to experience landscapes and cityscapes through mood, light, and atmosphere. His work reflects a fascination with the subtle beauty of everyday moments, encouraging a slower, more immersive way of seeing the world.
