Jacek Kloskowski is a Polish photographer whose journey with photography spans more than two decades. Over the years, his practice has developed across documentary and portrait photography, guided by a genuine curiosity about people, places, and the stories that connect them. Rather than simply recording what is in front of his camera, Kloskowski approaches photography as a way of observing and understanding the world, allowing each image to emerge from a quiet and attentive encounter with his subjects.

His work is characterised by a deeply empathetic gaze, through which intimate human moments coexist with the quiet poetry of the natural world. Whether photographing people, landscapes, or everyday situations, Kloskowski is drawn to gestures, expressions, atmospheres, and fleeting details that might otherwise go unnoticed. There is a sense of stillness and intimacy within his images, where the personal and the universal meet, creating photographs that feel both immediate and contemplative.

Save us from shotguns & fathers suicides.
John Berryman.

This poem matters because Berryman’s raw expression of inherited trauma and devastating loss deeply mirrors my own painful personal experiences.

With a practice rooted in long-term observation and a sensitivity to the emotional dimension of his subjects, Kloskowski continues to explore the relationship between human experience and the environments that surround us. His photographs invite the viewer to slow down and look closely, finding beauty and meaning in moments that might initially appear ordinary. Through this approach, his work becomes a quiet reflection on connection, presence, and the subtle poetry found within everyday life.
