Carla Cervantes Caro is an artist and director whose practice explores the relationship between the body, architecture, and visual poetry. Working across contemporary dance, photography, film, and hybrid artistic experiences, she creates carefully constructed worlds where bodies become landscapes and emotions take on a physical form.

Influenced by geometry, architecture, and nature, her work moves between intimacy and monumentality, precision and instinct. Each project is shaped by a strong conceptual coherence and a distinctly cinematic sensibility, combining movement, composition, and space to create images that feel both precise and deeply expressive.

I create what I long to encounter. I seek simplicity that can hold complexity.

I am interested in the relationship between bodies and the spaces they inhabit, and in the possibility of slightly reorganising reality.

I am drawn to contradictions: tenderness and force, intimacy and monumentality, control and surrender. I often work through limitation as a way of finding expansion, stretching physical and visual possibilities to create images that feel strangely possible — suspended somewhere between reality and imagination, the known and the unexpected.

I am interested in creating work that questions what feels fixed — making space for tenderness, complexity and unfamiliar ways of relating. Work that resonates before it explains itself, and expands what feels imaginable.

Stretching the boundaries between the physical and the imaginary, Carla’s work invites us into worlds suspended somewhere between reality and fiction. Through her practice, she explores new ways of seeing, connecting, and inhabiting the world, turning the body and its surroundings into spaces for emotion, transformation, and discovery.
